SCRATCHMATIC / MIX-TRIX

1986 in the mix – leggit home from school, set the tuner to 92.5fm LWR and pop in a cassette for some serious pause button pushin – it’s Tim Westwood’s hip hop show. We spread the word, told our friends and kept it locked. This raw dubplate pressure is a splice of two mixes. First is Scratchmatic – Sound of the Street from 1984, then at 2’10” you hear Mix-Trix – In Vibe released in 1983. Plus a cheeky snatch of 2 Live Crew at the start.

Bonus Beats: you get the full vinyl versions of both bootiful bootlegs – use the player’s forward and back buttons. Strictly illegal here on nine two five!
